For The Good and The Brave

We self-test for CoV-19 every audiology service day,
protecting members and their families
We're delighted to announce that Hearing Star's audiology services have updated policies and procedures that are robust to keep members safe in 2021.

Although the economy may be impatient to commence business as usual, we have been much more cautious. The main causes of transmission of COVID-19 are touching surfaces followed by proximity to others. Looking at the evidence, it will therefore be safer to avoid smaller rooms and high traffic areas, especially where there is little through ventilation.

Most high street hearing test rooms are barely larger than 3 x 5 meters, often at the back of a hearing centre, opticians or pharmacy with no window for ventilation. Clearly in a post CoV-19 world, these are not attractive design features. We find that receiving your hearing aid service at home, is now the safest way to hear better especially if you're vulnerable or worried about the virus.

When visiting members at home, we will take precautions to ensure that we have completed a self-test for CoV-19 each day. We wear a mask and gloves for infection control. Additionally, hearing aid boxes and other items are sanitised, placed in a plastic bag and not opened until in your home and we've sanitised our hands and donned gloves.

With the addition of a open window to improve ventilation, limiting the number of people in the room and wearing a mask when within one meter, the risk to members are at their lowest.

The above measures are further supported by the fact that uniquely, we don't sell to the general public and we're not a high volume sales company. We consult with just one or two members at home in any one day. We hope that this information and our careful approach to serving members will give you confidence and see us deliver another ten years of quality, safely.
